ok, so the new site is up and running, and i think everyone likes it, there are lots of shiney new phones on the horizon and the world of smartphones is going well, but you know me, im never happy and todays rant is about 084/087 numbers, im sorry if you enjoy them but they suck, the only calls i've paid for this year are numbers starting 084 or 087, the prime culprits for this are (in no specific order)
the bank the creditcard company crappy isp my domains hosted with (dont use legend they suck, honest) the evil utility companies
ok, why do i dislike nongeo numbers, first off, they cost 10p a minuite from anyphone
coming up a close second, there is always a annoying voice menu that answers the call straght away (starts costing from the first second)
thirdly, what are they trying to hide, we know the callcenter is somewhere, the lines all terminate in the uk somewhere, and there always is a translation number
and finaly, the buggers are getting money from our call to them, stay with me on this one its good, you phone up to pay a bill, the IVR (interactive voice response) system gets you to put in random details, you get to listen to some crappy royalty free musik for 10 mins because all the operators are busy, then you get through to the CSR who nine times out of 10 can help you, doesnt sound that bad, but its just cost you £1.50 before you have even spoken to someone (and the people you called made £0.75 out of it)
and another thing thats making me rainyfaced is all this 'instead of waiting, enter your 'landline' number and we will call you back', what! i cant get a call back on my mobile!!!!, god damnit, the last person i spoke to about this said (and ill quoute) 'it costs us too much to call mobiles', and this is coming from telco (not a real one but a dti level2 one), my response of 'you cheap bastards!, its actualy cheaper to call the sates than to call you, you got a geographic number i can call you on? no ahh well, suppose i'll move my business elsewhere'
so im starting a campaign to stop people using nongeo numbers, or have them included in the inclusive minuites on my landline and mobiles
ohh and legend.co.uk can kiss my ass, how hard is it to email someone and tell them that there domain might go a bit tits up $randomexplitive
