Ok, very OT but i feel this deserves a mention:
The folks over at eMercedesBenz are trying to help out a homeless man who saved the life of a fellow Merc driver.
'a homeless man saved the life of Narendra Maharaj, after Maharaj's Mercedes plunged off a bridge and fell twenty feet into the waiting river below.
According to the article, the homeless man, who's name is Derrick Lee Pack, lived under the bridge and saw the accident take place. After running for help, Pack realized he didn't have time to wait for rescuers to arrive on the scene, so he waded out into the river, and with a piece of iron he had found nearby, pulled the driver to safety.' Derrick Lee Pack lost everything he owned when his apartment caught fire. With no money, he and his wife are now living under a bridge by day and in an abandoned freight container near the river by night. The last thing of any value he owned was his steel toecap boots which he lost whilst rescuing the Mercedes driver. So what kind of reward did he receive for this act of heroism? None whatsoever!
You can read the rest of the article HERE and if you feel like helping the cause by donating, eMercedesBenz are working on a way you can do it...so do!
Update: You can now donate HERE!
