Having recently bedded down with Tech Faith Wireless as a result of HTC's departure, i-Mate are to release the UBiQUiO 501 from TechFaith Wireless as the JAQ3 and possibly the UBiQUiO 601 as the K-Jar.
The JAQ3, a Pocket PC Phone Edition, looks to be a very nice device that seems to draw heavily from recent Samsung design and features a QWERTY keyboard, Windows Mobile 5.0, GSM/GPRS 900/1800/1900 (no support for GSM 850 and EDGE), Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP, WiFi 802.11b and g, a 2 MP camera, 64 MB internal storage and miniSD expansion.

The K-Jar is a HTC Universal inspired Pocket PC Phone Edition which would be based on the TechFaithWireless UBiQUiO 601. Its not a UMTS device like the HTC Universal but features triband GSM/GPRS connectivity, Bluetooth 1.2 with A2DP, WiFi b and g, Windows Mobile 5.0, a TI OMAP 750 CPU, 128 MB ROM, 64 MB RAM, a 2.8 inch QVGA touch screen, a 2MP CMOS camera and miniSD card expansion. Whether the K-Jar is a reality is yet to be confirmed by i-Mate...
