I had an interesting bit of information passed to me last night by Tom from Neowin. He informed me that there was no MSN in the M600. I was surprised, if not a little dubious but our own Brody has just confirmed it! NO MSN IN M600!!
Now I'm not sure if any of you will remember but a while back (well over a year ago) there was talk of MSN being pulled out of devices and MS charging for it as an add-on. That was the last everyone thought they'd hear about that but now, out of the blue, here it is...or rather isn't.
This coincides nicely with an article from DigiTimes Telecom which states:
"Microsoft was actively promoting the MSN Messenger function to handset makers, but telecom carriers did not want the service to be included in the handset. If the application was to be offered, the telecom service providers wanted it to be an additional feature that they could provide and collect revenues on."
First the M600...whats's next!? Does this mark the begining of the end for MSN in our devices? Would you pay for MSN when you could use something like Agile Messenger instead? Solve this by getting Pocket MSN on your Pocket PC by clicking here!
