O2 to join Orange with "unlimited" mobile data

O2 logoO2 have announced that from the 1st October, customers will be able to (for the hardly pricey sum of £7.50 a month) buy a bolt-on that will allow them unlimited mobile internet access.

The catch? It's not really unlimited. Like Orange who announced back in June that they would be bringing in a flat rate "unlimited" package that turned out not to be so unlimited, O2 have capped the data at a rather paltry 200MB a month. Admittedly it's better than the Orange offer.

More data is available, but you'll need to fork out £30 a month for a 3GB cap.

Is this O2 leading people to buy the iPhone when it comes out on 9th November? Or are they just trying to stay in the market?
