Surely not? The rumour is that the .NET compact framework (the set of files that let you run all of the nice applications and games on your Windows Mobile device) could become available for Symbian Series 60 phones! That would lose Windows Mobile phones their exclusivity in this area and open up applications that were once only for Windows Mobile, to Symbian Series 60 phones too - great for developers and Series 60 phone owners, bad for Microsoft's exclusivity?
The company "offering" the beta of the .NET framework, Red Five Labs, have this to say:
Red Five Labs is about to launch a first public beta of its .NET Compact Framework runtime with class libraries for Symbian OS powered mobile devices.
The beta will be compatible with Microsoft's 1.0 Compact Framework for Smartphones, and will run on S60 (previously Series 60) emulators and devices.
