KeypadPoker players who’d like to bring the game in their pockets have quite a few options nowadays. Besides the mobile version of the traditional online poker sites, there are some games exclusively designed for mobile devices. Midnight Hold'em Poker, for instance, allows you to practice your poker skills against a variety of computer opponents. But wouldn't poker be quite boring if there was no money on the line, especially when the opponent is not a real person?

Some say something is missing in the game when there’s no risk involved and there’s no chance of winning. These will often much rather play traditional online Texas Holdem for real money. These traditional poker sites still have a larger game variety and more traffic, and even though it's probable that the mobile poker games will grow in popularity, the winner in this race will probably be the classic online sites. At least if they manage to develop decent software for mobile phones.

HTC patent touchscreen supporting stylus and touch

HTC SnapHTC have filed for a patent for a new technology of touchscreen that will support both stylus and touch input, something that seems to be mutually exclusive on all existing technology. This can't be bad although we can't help wondering if many users out their would still prefer to use a stylus over their fingers?

Quote:

Though capacitive displays are generally regarded as the easier-to-use technology for mobile touchscreens, their finger-friendliness comes at a dear price: accuracy. Because capacitive tech is incompatible with traditional styli, you're stuck fudging things with your fat digits or settling for a high-tech finger alternative that arguably creates as many problems as it solves. Don't worry, though -- HTC feels your pain, and it seems like they're looking to keep the classic stylus in the game as the company's lineup makes the inevitable transition to capacitive over the coming years. A new patent application describes a stylus with some sort of magnetically charged tip -- at first, we thought that sounded suspiciously like what Wacom does for its tablets, but unlike Wacom's tech, this would function with a traditional, seemingly unmodified capacitive display.

CoPilot Live for iPhoneWe've always been big fans of CoPilot GPS Navigation software at MSMobileNews.com so thought it only right that we broadcast the news of their latest release, that of CoPilot Live Satellite Navigation for the iPhone. Costing £25.99 from the App Store it gives you full UK and Ireland maps (including 7 digit UK postcodes), portrait and landscape modes and all maps are stored on the device meaning no data costs (rarely a problem for iPhone users anyway though I guess?). With such a buzz around the iPhone and its App Store has Windows Mobile missed a trick?

KeypadGood news for all of you HTC fans out there who have been frustrated by the lack of 3.5mm headphone jack on most of their devices, it would appear that on the whole this is about to change! HTC have specifically come out and said that the "vast majority of devices we launch after Hero will have a 3.5mm jack. Devices that we have already announced but that still come out after Hero will not necessarily be a part of this change".

Nice to hear that HTC have finally realised that we want to use our own earphones without an adaptor Smile
