Today, I managed to stumble upon this little gem of news! htc-corporation-logo-140x140

It seems that HTC’s catalogue plan of handsets for the start of 2010 has been leaked to the public. The company is offering a range of different stylish looking devices! Even one with a QWERTY keypad.

The different devices will be supporting a mix of Andriod OS and Windows Mobile 6.5. HTC have also deemed it necessary to allocate “classes” to their new catalogue.

At last it’s here! So lets get cracking shall we?

As before any release of a device from HTC, or any other company for that matter, the rumours start to fly about several things. One specific thing with the HD2 was whether it was going to be a Windows Mobile handset, or a new Android handset. And now due to its retail release we can say it’s supporting Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional.

The device boasts a large screen, a whopping 4.3 inch touchscreen! Naturally there are drawbacks to this as several people have questioned the device asking “maybe it’s too big?”

HTC Touch.B, not such a smart smartphone?
General Mobile News - Other

htc-touch.bSo it seems the HTC Touch.B isn’t going to support Windows Mobile, or the Android operating system. In fact the device is going to be run by “Qualcomm's BrewMP OS” to give it it’s full name, a full Flash OS.

An unusual move for HTC as I think I would be reight in saying that every other deivce they have produced as been Windows Mobile or, more recently, Android OS. It puzzles me, and I’m sure some others as to why HTC would take this seeming backward step, is this a bid to sell handsets in to the mass-market?

The OS does however seem rather smooth and tidy, as does the device, looking all the world to be a twin to the Touch2. But HTC seem to be limiting the capabilities of the HTC Touch.B.  You can catch a short video of the device in use here showing the new OS in action!

htc_touch_hd2-140 The HTC HD2 seems to have an aura of followers surrounding the device, with one specific topic popping up almost everywhere you read about this device… the battery life.

Some users are reporting great battery life, lasting up to a couple of days on one charge and others complaining about not being able to make it through an 8-hour business day without having to rummage for their charger!

Over at www.tracyandmatt.co.uk the debate is raging on the forums, and we always want to have some fresh input from any of our readers.

The HTC HD2 reviews start appearing online

HTC HD2 Well it looks like a few other sites have beaten us and already have their HTC HD2 reviews online. James and Matt from tracyandmatt.co.uk have published what I think is probably the best HTC HD2 review out there. It’s incredibly detailed and they have obviously spent a lot of time on the review which has dozens of photos and screen shots. It covers most areas of the handset but carries on on their forum where they are answering questions.

I’m still working on my review and hope to have that online shortly just as soon as I have the time to finish it up. For now have a look over at tracyandmatt.co.uk for their take on the HD2 and be sure to check in with us later for my coverage of the HTC HD2.

HTC_HD2_sm A few days ago I finally managed to get my mucky paws on HTC’s new flagship handset, the HTC HD2.

When I started thinking about my review of the HD2 I was amazed that I’d been using the it’s predecessor, the HTC Touch HD, for almost a year and it seems that the HD2 upgrade has come around very fast!

So I’ve swapped my SIM from the HD to the HD2 and started setting up my email etc. using the HD2 as my only main device.

Although this isn’t my full review read on for my first impressions of the HTC HD2…
