The Sandisk Sansa e200 is a great alternative to the iPod Nano, so much so that its found its way into my pocket as my main MP3 player. Therefore Sandisk's choice to release accessories for the e200 is more than welcome.
Today we're looking at the Sansa Base Station dock with remote for Sandisk Sansa players.
Essentially it offers an output providing playback of your music through an external source, personally I have mine wired to my amplifier which in turn pushes my music through my stereo's speakers. The Base Station also offers a USB connection, charging via a mains plug and remote control access with the supplied remote so changing tracks, playing/pausing and changing volume can all be done from a distance. The connection between the Base Station and your Sansa MP3 player is universal, this means that it is compatible with both the c200 and e200 range of players (see our review of the e200 here) which is great news.
 Sandisk Base Station
In practice, the Base Station works very well, its great for parties and allows you to share your normally mobile music with others and through whatever audio system you choose. The added bonus of charging whilst playing back your music is handy and the USB connection makes the dock the perfect companion for updating your device with the latest firmware of the latest music. I would expect a remote control on an accessory like this, without it there would be little point, having said that it works well and is nice and neat, you'll need to aim it a little at the dock but that's a comprimise I'm willing to live with.
 Sandisk Base Station
To conclude, the Sandisk Sansa Base Station is a worthy addition to the Sansa range and offers up another way to use your Sansa MP3 player as well as providing the practicality of charging and connecting to your PC. If you own a Sansa e200 or c200 then this should be on your shopping list.
